Cafe con Leche - Coffee with Milk Recipe

Breakfast for most Spaniards is very small and simple meal. Some Spaniards choose to have Cafe con Leche or Coffee with Milk with a piece of bread.

Recipes Ingredients:

(Serving: 3~4 people | Preparation time: 10 minutes)


  • Instant Coffee (regular or decaffeinated): 4 tablespoons
  • Milk: 4 cups*
  • Sugar: 8 tablespoons*

Cooking Methods:

  1. Boil milk over medium heat* in a saucepan. Stir the milk constantly.
  2. Turn off the heat once milk begins to boil. Add in sugar* and coffee and stir ingredients until dissolved.
  3. With heatproof glasses, serve in Spanish style for 3~4 people.

Cooking Suggestions(*):

  1. Use skim milk to avoid too much of fat intake.
  2. Use medium heat as not to burn the milk.
  3. Reduce number of tablespoon of sugar or add in sugar little by little when preparing to control the sweetness of coffee.
