Sangria Blanca or White Sangria is a famous drink enjoy by Spanish people especially in Andalusia. It is common to see Spaniard sitting at outdoor café sipping Sangria.
This refreshing Sangria Blanca, Fruit Punch is typically made from fruit juice and fruits, bursting with sparkling fruits flavour. This clear version of Sangria is unique in its use of ice cube made from apple juice.
Recipes Ingredients:
(Serving: 7~8 glasses)
- Peach (medium, peeled, pitted, and sliced): 2
- Pear (small, cut into chunks): 2
- Orange (medium, sliced crosswide): 2
- Lemon (small, sliced crosswide): 2
- Apple Juice (for ice cube)
- Fresh Mint (small bunch): 1
- Sugar: 90 gram/3.5 oz*
- Cinnamon Stick: 3
- Dry White Wine: 750 ml/1.25 pints
- Sparkling apple cider: 750 ml/1.25 pints
- Mint leaves (for decoration purpose)
Cooking Methods:
- First, we need to prepare the apple-juice ice cubes. Pour the apple juice into 2 ice trays and freeze until the sangria is ready to serve.
- Mix the water, sugar, mint and cinnamon in a saucepan and heat it over medium heat till boiled.
- Reduce the heat and simmer for several minutes. Then remove it from the heat and leave to cool to room temperature.
- After mixture cold, remove and discard the mint and cinnamon sticks and pour the remaining mixture to a large serving bowl.
- Add and mix the peaches, pears, orange and lemon slices and the wine into the serving bowl. Cover the serving bowl and store in fridge overnight.
- Immediately before serving, mix the sparkling apple cider and the apple-juice ice cubes into tall glasses. Decorate with fresh mint leaves, if desired.
Cooking Suggestions(*):
- Reduce amount of sugar to reduce the sweetness sangria.
- Prepare ice cube made from other fruits, lemon or grape juice to increase the fruit flavor of sangria.
